July 23, 2021 was a special day for my cousin Nate who married Alexa.  It was a beautiful outdoor wedding overlooking a canyon in Idaho.  It was pleasure to be there and celebrate with them.  I had a good time being with all my Weber side of the family.  We all stayed at the same hotel and enjoyed breakfast together each morning.  Alana and I toured downtown Boise by scooter.  We took the Greenbelt trail that ran between the Boise River and Boise State University and ended at the downtown area.  Well, at least that's where the trail ended for us.  We got lost and then our Lyme scooters ran out of power.  We didn't know that we could just leave them wherever they died so we dragged them back to their starting point in the intense summer heat.  That part of the day was really miserable.  We have an aunt and uncle on the Hurtt side of the family (Aunt Roberta and Uncle Bill) who live in Boise.  We arranged a visit with them.  Our scooter catastrophe may have delayed the visit somewhat.  They were very understanding and kind to us.  They saw to it that we loaded up with Idaho Spuds before going home.  Idaho trip was a success!

Trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming

~July 2021~

Trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming

My dear friend Sarah met me at the airport and gave me a tour around her beautiful city

Iconic arch in the city's center square.  I managed to get a picture without any tourists in it.

The Grand Teton

Gondola Ride

This was a quick trip to Wyoming en route to Idaho for a family wedding.  I had a blast catching up with Sarah, sharing stories and seeing her beautiful city.  I definitely plan to go back.

Happy Birthday, Mom

~Happy Birthday, Mom~

July 2021

Trip To Disneyland

Disneyland closed for over a year.  Three months after it's reopening, we took a trip to Anaheim and celebrated Mom's birthday.  We were at the gate by 8 AM and stayed until midnight until the fireworks ended.  We rode our favorite rides and ate our favorite foods.  We ate dinner at the Blue Bayou Restaurant inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.  The crowds were thick and the lines were long but thankfully my sister Alana was able to figure out some tricks to get us on rides a little more quickly.  My mom's favorite ride is It's A Small World so of course we all gladly endured this ride with her for her birthday.  I would say my favorite ride is the Pirates of the Caribbean.  Alana was able to get us on the newest ride, Rise of the Resistance.  We enjoyed our time together.  We Californians are happy to see Disney up and running again!

Arizona Trip

Sister's Trip to Scottsdale, Arizona

March 2021

Medieval Times Scottsdale Here We Come!

Visit to the Winkler's Church in El Mirage

McDowell Sonoran Preserve

Old Town Scottsdale

Museum of the West

Coffee Tasting

Tired of the California lockdowns, Alana and I took a trip to Scottsdale, Arizona.  We found a gigantic mall where we shopped and shopped and shopped.  We ate at some delicious restaurants including Buca di Beppo, Lolos Chicken and Waffles, and Abuelos Mexican.  We were thrilled to actually eat inside a restaurant again!  We visited Northwest Apostolic Church to hear Pastor Ken Winkler preach.  He and sister Winkler were very kind to us as was their church family.  The following day we decided to hike.  I lasted a whole hour.  It was so hot and I had not brought nearly enough water for the treck.  You really need good hiking shoes in Arizona.  The terrain is so rocky that good ankle support is a must.  We visited Medieval Times Scottsdale but I must say, our Medieval Times Castle in California is a bit more elaborate.  We enjoyed the dinner and show nonetheless.  On our last day we explored Old Town Scottsdale, a cute touristy area with some fun coffee shops.  It was a successful trip and I would love to return!  Thank you, good neighbor Arizona for being so freedom-loving!

My Birthday

~Happy Birthday To Me!~
January 31

My birthday fell on a Sunday this year.  It was a special day!

First of all, my grandmother flew down from Washington to celebrate with me.  She got her Covid vaccine, put her mask on, and got on a flight to California!  It was so special to have her come!

January was an especially busy month at the hospital and we nurses were required to do "Mandatory Overtime."  My sleeping pattern was definitely thrown off on my birthday weekend.  On my birthday, I got up around 3:30 AM wide awake.  I set to work and made sugar cookies for Sunday school, decorated my "Winter Wonderland" cake, and created a photo-op spot on my front porch.

By 8AM my parents stopped by with a Cinnamon Dolce Latte--yum.  It was perfect timing--a little energy boost for teaching Sunday School.

My Sunday School class presented me with a flower corsage and wished me a happy birthday.

My wish is to one day visit Bora Bora.  My mom made a "Dreaming of Bora Bora" lunch for me complete with my favorite Polynesian Rib platter.  So delish!

I was spoiled with presents, mostly new outfits which I love!  I felt bad because by this time, I was so tired!  These awful waves of fatigue hit out of nowhere sometimes from my night-shift working.  I kept drinking coffee but could not keep my eyes open.  I had to post-pone cake until after a nap.  Seriously so embarrassing.  We snapped a few pictures.  There are probably bags under my eyes by this point.

After we rested up, we went back to church for PM service.  Good service!  We came back to my house for cake and a few final pictures for the day.

Monday I took my grandma for an over-night stay on the ocean!  We headed to Pismo Beach.

Alana was able to join us in the evening after she finished up work for the day.  A seagull begged for her snack.

Thank you everyone for my making my 34th birthday so special!  Thanks also for the cards and text messages.  Love you all.

So thankful for God's blessings this past year.  It was such a victory to get processed through the Board of Registered Nursing, get a job on Telemetry, get special cardiac training, and serve as a Pandemic Nurse!  It was an added blessing that I was able to purchase a new car, and take some little trips nearby.  Looking forward to another great year!
