Back In The USA

The Weber family is all together again in Washington! Alana and I arrived back in Washington 3 weeks ago and have now been joined by our parents. I am so glad they are here with us. My mom and dad are getting ready for deputation which means truck/trailer hunting. Foreign Missions has given them a 1-year schedule which is not too bad, actually. They hope to soon return to their church and continue the great work God has started in Curitiba!

I am back in school and working. I have a great job, located just 10min. from my house, working as a secretary for a company that builds and maintains ponds and waterfalls. I am also taking a full load of classes from Liberty University. Alana is also buried deep in school work from PLU. On with another semester!

We are all having a good time being together. We just miss Bella our dog who is at a doggie hotel in Houston for another week.

Here we are in front of my grandpa's and grandma's house. My grandma has a beautiful garden!

What I missed soooo much while in Brazil--White Chocolate Mocha!!!

Another place I greatly missed while in Brazil! :))

Making a Difference

This summer our church focused heavily on evangelism. We had a Sunday school crusade, a youth drama, and evangelism blitzs--all successful with many first-time visitors!

Bro. Nini, our friend from the Lambeth's church, preached

"Soul's must be sought; they won't come, they must be brought; they won't learn, they must be taught" (Johnny James). Soul winning requires hard work. Many people have said to me, "Wow, getting people to go to church in Brazil is way easier than getting people to come to church in America." I usually do not say anything to that, but I always think like this:
"If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got" (Ron Wofford). Of course I am applying this to outreach, not to standards. So I say, if you look for them, you will find people all around you who are hungry for God, whether that be in America or in Brazil. We can make a difference in someone's life!

Youth Drama Recap

Last month our youth group performed Doors, an unforgettable drama exploring the condition of the unbeliever. About 10 years ago we saw this same drama performed by the Western District Drama Tour team. It was very impacting. In Summer '09 we began searching for the script and about 5 months later my sister finally got into contact with someone who had a used script of Doors. Alana translated the drama and then she, along with our youth pastor and his wife, produced the drama. It was very good and we had several visitors come to church for the first time to see the drama. Here is a clip of the drama Alana uploaded to YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jDNKk2ITOo

Leadership Dinner

On Thursday night my mom and dad hosted a time of fellowship for our leadership team. Our church's ministerial staff consists of 4 couples including assistant pastor, youth pastor, evangelism director, and co-music director working with my mom. We had 15 people at our house and we had a great time and enjoyed lots of good food! We introduced them to some American dishes including guacamole, ranch dip with raw veggies, salmon (sent from Aunt Nancy--yummy!), and buffalo chicken wings. We also had a main course, but it was more Brasilian. :)) I had a great time entertaining the kids.

A todos que vieram jantar na minha casa aqui estao algumas fotos. Com certeza a comida foi inesquesivel!:)) Voces sao muito especias para nos. Que Deus te abencoe! Estou com saudades ja de voces.
