Oh Dear!

It all happened on Wednesday. I left for school at 6 AM. It was dark and foggy as usual but as I began rounding the curve near Vandenburg Village I thought i saw something moving. Thinking it was just the fog lifting, I just kept going until...OH DEAR!!! I hit a deer. It kinda bounced off my car and rolled to the shoulder. I didnt know what to do because my car was smoking--call 911, call AAA...??? My mom and dad were on a plane coming from Houston so I decided to call up a very nice family from our church. They came zooming to my rescue, we got the car towed away, and I made it to school just 1 hr. late! :)) I was quite shaken up and very sad to see my Honda hauled away for the appraisal. I am hoping to repair it and not replace it. Thank God the deer didnt come through my windshield!

August/School

I am so amazed to see that this blog has received over 18,000 views--thank you all for reading my posts!  I have not given much attention to this blog since starting nursing school--yes, nursing school!  I am soooooooooo excited to say that I finally got in!!!!!!  Thank God!  Now I just have to stay in! :))

Okay so Alana had to leave us last week to return to Washington for her last year at Pacific Lutheran University.  She will graduate in May with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science.  Here is her good-bye to the church:

The dynamic duo has broken apart.  I miss my sister very much!

This has got to be the worst picture I have ever taken.  ANYWAY!  This is my Search For Truth student and friend, Anahi! :))  All summer Alana and I gave her a Bible study.  We finished the last lesson 2 weeks ago.  We are hoping she will get baptized soon!

I was accepted into a nursing program in Santa Maria, CA, and started on August 6th.  It has been, so far, the most rigorous program I have ever experienced.  I love what I am learning and in 13 more months I will be a nurse--Lord willing!:))

My Aunt Laura surprised us with a visit. So nice.

Last night's Youth Activity.  Our older youth went to Youth Alive and our younger youth had activity night with lots of.....surprises.  Ha!

Alana turned 22 on the 16th of August.

While my parents and Alana went up to Washington to get Alana all ready for another school year, I stayed behind with Bella.  Here she is.

Tomorrow is coming soon.  Hope everyone has some good church tomorrow!

We had an opening in the sanctuary with music and a presentation then we split into 2 teams and had competitions until about 10 PM. We will never forget the baby food eating contest:)). God blessed our efforts and we had 8 first time visitors attend. Here are a few pictures...

Happy Birthday Mom

It has been quite a week of birthday celebrations around here!  My mom's birthday was on the 16th so we celebrated....and celebrated...and celebrated...

On Friday the church threw mom a wonderful surprise party.  The fellowship hall, er multi-purpose room, was decorated so beautifully.  We enjoyed Sister Kendrick's delicious potato cheese soup and Sophia's chocolate cake with fresh strawberries.  Brother Herman presented my mom with a cane...oh my. :))

On Monday we had a celebration in our trailer with many presents....

Promptly after presents we packed up our suitcases and drove to Anaheim!!!  Here is our hotel just a few blocks from Disneyland!

Arriving at the Hilton, headed to the check-in counter.  The hotel was massive--8 elevators, a Starbucks, 2 gift shops, and a UPS store...:)) There were other restaurants but I didn't have much time to explore.

Yeay!  We arrived at Disneyland at 8:00 AM EXACTLY!!!  We wanted to get our fast-passes first thing and get on all our favorite rides before it got super crowded.

Here is the classic Disneyland picture by Walt Disney.  BTW this is a popular marriage proposal spot.  Ugh.  Why here?

Hello!

In line for Indiana Jones.  We only waited for about 20 minutes.

Autopia--got right on.  Im telling you, at 8AM the park is PERFECT!

Mary Poppins...Just a spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down :))

Our last fast pass was to Space Mountain but while we were in line, the ride shut down.  We were given fast passes for 6 people to whatever ride we wanted.  We by-passed the 90 minute Splash Mountain line and were on this ride in about 15 minutes.

Having tea at Minnie's house

Tea Cups--gotta love it

We tried to take the classic in front of the castle picture for our wonderful blog fans, but it was way crowded.

Me, all worn out after 12 hours at Disneyland :))

Matterhorn

Me and dad but I'm not sure why my dad has his eyes crossed :))

For the birthday dinner we ate at the Blue Bayou Restaurant which is inside the Pirates of the Carribean ride.  It was dark in there so you can just barely see us....

Here is my delicious cajun-flavored salmon dinner

Happy Birthday Mom!

Yeay.  We had a great time in Anaheim.  We stayed 3 nights and had a lot of fun together.  Im glad my mom had a birthday.  :))  I love my mom very much.

More to come....
