~Happy Birthday To Me!~
January 31
My birthday fell on a Sunday this year. It was a special day!
First of all, my grandmother flew down from Washington to celebrate with me. She got her Covid vaccine, put her mask on, and got on a flight to California! It was so special to have her come!
January was an especially busy month at the hospital and we nurses were required to do "Mandatory Overtime." My sleeping pattern was definitely thrown off on my birthday weekend. On my birthday, I got up around 3:30 AM wide awake. I set to work and made sugar cookies for Sunday school, decorated my "Winter Wonderland" cake, and created a photo-op spot on my front porch.
By 8AM my parents stopped by with a Cinnamon Dolce Latte--yum. It was perfect timing--a little energy boost for teaching Sunday School.
My Sunday School class presented me with a flower corsage and wished me a happy birthday.
My wish is to one day visit Bora Bora. My mom made a "Dreaming of Bora Bora" lunch for me complete with my favorite Polynesian Rib platter. So delish!
I was spoiled with presents, mostly new outfits which I love! I felt bad because by this time, I was so tired! These awful waves of fatigue hit out of nowhere sometimes from my night-shift working. I kept drinking coffee but could not keep my eyes open. I had to post-pone cake until after a nap. Seriously so embarrassing. We snapped a few pictures. There are probably bags under my eyes by this point.
After we rested up, we went back to church for PM service. Good service! We came back to my house for cake and a few final pictures for the day.
Monday I took my grandma for an over-night stay on the ocean! We headed to Pismo Beach.
Alana was able to join us in the evening after she finished up work for the day. A seagull begged for her snack.
Thank you everyone for my making my 34th birthday so special! Thanks also for the cards and text messages. Love you all.
So thankful for God's blessings this past year. It was such a victory to get processed through the Board of Registered Nursing, get a job on Telemetry, get special cardiac training, and serve as a Pandemic Nurse! It was an added blessing that I was able to purchase a new car, and take some little trips nearby. Looking forward to another great year!
